International and national projects of NLCV
For the period from its creation up to date the Laboratory took part in more than 60 research and applied scientific projects, including 15 international projects in the framework programmes of the European Commission.
The public international and national projects are related to:
- Generation of algorithms for control sums used in the modules ensuring data security;
- Analysis and assessment of computer security in network environment;
- Establishing of procedures for checking the communication security of corporate communication equipment;
- Experimental studies of system security for non-standard system configurations in corporate organizations;
- Total approbation of hardware and software tools used to meet international standards in the field of information security;
- Ordered tests for analysis and assessment of the security of end user high frequency wireless equipment;
- Research related to the verification of the complete life cycle and the full crypto-procedures used to assess the cryptographic security of the corporate software tools;
- Experimental studies related to the rules for processing graphics and sound objects and their respective evaluation regarding the stegano-security;
- Analysis and evaluation of objects in Internet / Extranet / Intranet critical infrastructure in respect of their cumulative cyber security.
Projects implemented for the Ministry of Defense:
- antiviral assessment of computer and communication interaction;
- opportunities to use antivirus protection in local operations;
- planning for operational activities in network operating system;
- antivirus protection of office workplaces in network environment;
- antispam procedures for server protection and maintenance;
- dynamic management of resident protection in network environment;
- threat assessment in SQL based applications and systems;
- opportunities for real time system registry analysis;
- security procedures in systems with firmware components;
- methods and means for protection from network rootkit attacks.
Projects, implemented for the Ministry of Interior:
- establishing a real-time server protection for databases;
- evaluating the possibilities of intrusion into protected networks;
- double action viral signatures and their use;
- technical means of protection against network attacks;
- analysis of malicious attacks in web-based applications;
- security procedures and policies in hierarchical network structures;
- implementation and management of spam filters for local networks;
- opportunities for protection against spyware in wireless applications;
- dynamic management of virus signatures databases;
- protection from intrusion in corporate network structures.
Projects implemented for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science:
- Computer modeling of viruses and their spread;
- Evaluation and analysis of malicious attacks and malicious software;
- National cybersecurity portal.
